Labor Education Programs at LER

Minor in Global Labor Studies

The Global Labor Studies minor analyzes issues facing workers and labor unions. GLS courses look at the interplay of class, gender, race, and labor organizations in the workplace, the economy, and the political arena from a multi-disciplinary and global perspective.

A minor in Global Labor Studies requires 18 credit hours in GLS courses. A minimum grade point average of 2.75 is required for completion of the minor. All courses must be taken for a grade.

Application Requirements:

All students must be in academic good standing (2.0 GPA or higher). The School of Labor and Employment accepts the Statement of Intent to Pursue a Campus-Approved Minor as the official application form. Applications will be reviewed by the School. Planning to pursue a Global Studies minor does not offer special registration privileges.

Only students officially admitted by the School of Labor and Employment Studies may pursue the minor.

6	Minimum of six hours 300-level courses (Choose from LER 300, LER 320 or LER 330)
6	*Two courses that focus on international or comparative labor issues.
