Current Responsibilities:
Ms. Barker is responsible for all aspects of Student Services at the School, including but not limited to: marketing to and recruitment of students, coordinating the LER Open House, and developing program brochure content. Becky is also responsible for the admissions process, new student orientation and graduations for both MHRIR and Ph.D. students, academic monitoring, creating the LER course schedule, and assigning research assistants and LER committee members. She is the advisor for Labor and Industrial Relations Association and the LIRA Minority Students Association student groups.
Past Work Experience:
- 1998-1999---Retail Supervisor--Joint Venture with IUB and DIA
to handle all althletic merchandising at U of I Athletic events
- 1996-1998 Graduate Assistant in Department of Leisure Studies,
College of Applied Life Studies
- 10 years in the service industry prior to joining the University
full time with included managing the Illini Inn for three years
Personal Interests:
Avid sports watcher, especially Illini Basketball (from my C section seats) with my husband and son and Cubs baseball at Wrigley.
