Class Gifts

The four more recent LER graduating classes have raised substantial funds in support of five total projects that will give the classes a legacy with the program.   Perhaps equally as important, the class' effort involved over 85% of students contributing and many taking leadership roles; this experience will further a life-long connection to the School and foster a habit of leadership and generosity.

The Spring 2009 class thought with the recent transitions the School has undergone from the new space design to the new name they would recognize how far LER has come throught the years of ILIR. The class researched six areas of the School's history and designed plaques that now hang in the recruitment waiting area.

The December 2008 class designed and purchased decorative glass panels for the entryway to the new Franke Suite. These panes were etched with the LER name and "Advancing Employment Relations" on one and the University of Illinois logo on the other.

The December class also secured funds and purchased a large LCD television for the basement student lounge. The mounted display will play a loop of LER information about visiting companies, guest speakers, workshops, distinguished alumni news, student activities, and more; which would be updated by students weekly.

May 2008's class commissioned the purchase of over a dozen prints of professional campus photography to adorn the Recruiting and Seminar Suite. They tied the project together with a professional shot of all the current students also displayed in the suite.

LER recognized and appreciates these students - now members of our alumni community - who gave their hard-earned money and limited free-time to leave a legacy at LER.

December 2007’s class wrote a promotional video for the student experience in our MHRIR program.  They hired the services of professional videographers on campus and brought the video to fruition.  View the class video below:
